The Barber Science course consists of classroom theory and practical (hands on) training. Students must complete 1,528 hours of training. This course is taught out of the Milady’s Standard Textbook of Professional Barber-Styling. A barber Instructor Trainee Program is also  available to provide hands on preparation to take the instructor exam required by the NC Board of Barber Examiners. This program is 676 hours. Also, Advanced Training is available for graduate/professional students who are currently involved in the profession, who are in need of furthering their career development.
